The Aran Islands sit off the coast of Western Ireland, and are somewhat difficult to get to. They can be accessed via airplane or ferry.
Visit the Aran Islands by ferry from Doolin, Galway City, and Rossaveel. The two main ferry companies are – Aran Island Ferries & The Doolin Ferry Co.
Each island also has a small airport that can be reached by small planes or private jet.
The Aran Islands are made up of three islands – Inishmore, Inishmaan, & Inisheer. Inishmore is the largest of the three, but each of them are equally as beautiful to visit!
Explore any of the three islands! Take in their unique beauty, stop at one of their quaint cafes, and enjoy their gorgeous coastal views.
Need a way to get around on the islands? Each island offers bike rentals near the ferry docks, so that you can easily make your way around the islands!

On Inishmore, you can visit Dún Aonghasa – a large prehistoric stone fort along the cliffs.
Poll na bPéist – The Wormhole – is a large rectangular “pool” carved into the limestone and filled by the ocean, and is also on the island of Inishmore.
Take in the beautiful, rugged coastline and old black fort ruins at Dún Dúchathair on the isle of Inishmore.
The Cliffs on Inishmaan are absolutely gorgeous! Explore the island at your leisure, and stop by the cliffs for stunning views!
Ever been to a real shipwreck? Plassey Shipwreck is a fully washed up shipwreck that you can explore on Inisheer!
Explore the remains of O’Brien’s Castle on the island of Inisheer, and visit the half-buried remains of the Teampall Caomhán church!
